I spent a week at H-Bar-G youth hostel in August 1977 and my memories some 36 years later are of wonderful hospitality and an international bunch of young people full of hope for the future and a desire to enjoy the mountains and the ranch. I remember some fun games of volleyball on the volleyball court in the front of the cabins and some explorative talks late at night with other young people about how to put the world to rights. There were some wonderful hikes in the mountains and a dance at an Estes Park Inn one night where the boys outnumbered the girls three-to-one so we girls danced all night long. I always wanted to return from the UK to H-Bar-G with my own children but unfortunately never made it back.
