Absolutely some of my fondest memories as a young boy. We spent two weeks there for three consecutive summers (1943, 1944 and 1945) when I was 6 years old, and returned with my parents when I was 18 or 19 just to see the place and again with my wife and Dad in maybe 1969/1970.

We used to take the sleeper train from Omaha (where I was born) to I think Denver and then by a red coach bus along the South St. Vrain River to Estes Park. Vividly remember rides to Glen Haven down the steep trail, Gem Lake, etc. My grandfather, who was there with us one year, was a great practical joker and once came riding down from the stables in his pajamas and parading in front of all of us and the guests out on the front deck after breakfast.

Oh my, that spectacular view of the Rockies laid out before us in the far distance.

Thanks so much for jogging my wonderful memories.
