I spent one of the best summers of my life at H-Bar-G in 1959 when it was a camp owned by the Ungars of Chicago. I think there were about 35 campers, most from the Midwest (I'm from New Orleans). I would love to reconnect with campers from that summer. I have vivid memories of Cheyenne Frontier Days and riding in the Estes Park Parade. Leaving my horse (Chico, a grey roan) was wrenching! Years later I stayed at the H-Bar-G Hostel with my children (we actually stayed in my cabin). I see that the hostel has closed and I wonder what is happening to the land. Hopefully, it will not become a suburban tract.
