I was a 16 year old from Chicago. It was, summer, 1960 and prior to my senior year of high school. I was a bit too old for camp but I loved Colorado. On the first full day of camp we were given a horse for the summer. I had this nag I did not like. We trotted around in a circle and one of the girls became terrified when her horse ran away with her. They asked for a volunteer to take this horse for the summer. I jumped at the chance of having a horse with character. “Satellite” became my horse. He had the most wonderful cantor.
