It was the summer of 1993. My girlfriend and I worked together in Special Education in Orlando, FL and had decided to take a road trip out west... what turned out to be a 3,300 mile road trip! Equipped with our hostel cards, we took advantage of it when possible. The H-Bar-G Ranch was our last stop before turning in our rental car and flying home from Denver. From the moment we pulled the cord to open the gate, drove up the circular driveway to be greeted from the porch by our host, we knew we were in love with this place. The personal quaint cabins aside from the main lodge, to the grazing horse on the front lawn. We made ourselves at home in the dorm style bedroom. It was a delight to visit Estes Park and the Rocky Mountain National Park from this location. It was sad leaving, but after all the traveling, we were ready to head home.
